About Us
OUR MISSION
SLUH Hockey is a comprehensive athletic program that emphasizes the development of lifelong learning, values and skills through hard work, sportsmanship, and ethical conduct. SLUH Hockey is not just a hockey team, we are an entire school competing for each other. We are MEN FOR OTHERS.
HISTORY
The SLUH ice hockey program has become a pillar of excellence and consistency in the St. Louis hockey community. A perennial championship contender, the program has enjoyed nine appearances in the Mid States Hockey Association Challenge Cup Finals since 2012, including four MSCHA Challenge Cup Championships (2013, 2018, 2019, 2022). Head coach Steve Walters aims to further the education and character building of one of the nation’s top high schools, with the ultimate goal of developing excellent hockey players and young men.
ST. LOUIS UNIVERSITY HIGH SCHOOL MISSION STATEMENT
We are a Catholic, Jesuit college-preparatory school for young men, committed to our presence in the city of St. Louis and dedicated to building Christ’s kingdom of truth, justice, love and peace. We serve young men based on their ability to succeed, rather than their economic circumstances.
Through a rigorous academic program, we help our students develop critical minds and a life-long devotion to learning that informs moral choices and transforms lives.
In addition to assisting in the intellectual, aesthetic, social, and physical formation of our students, we help them develop compassionate hearts by fostering habits of personal prayer, reflection, and service for the Greater Glory of God.
